In April 2021, Google rolled out yet another update to its algorithm.
In December 2021 this update was tweaked again after gathering feedback from the public as to what they wanted to see to help them make better purchase decisions. The answer? Valuable content (visuals, audio, and links) that clearly show the product or service in order to help them make a decision.
This update for web design Macon is the second of its kind in the previous year. First, back in April 2021, it was designed to promote more valuable and specific product reviews by improving its ranking systems. The second, more recent update builds upon the first, adding more requirements for high-quality product reviews.
This means that your Google ranking may also reflect any positive changes made to content based on the April update. However, it is also important to note that the automated assessment of product review is not the be-all and end-all for ranking content, so changes could still happen at any time.
What does this mean for you?
In order to influence the algorithm to show our products first, you need to ensure you have high-quality content on your website that shows exactly what your product or service is or does. This includes videos, photos, audio clips and descriptions that contain important keywords people might be searching for.
The April update for web design Macon contained some advice on some of the best ways to improve your Google ranking. These included:
- Identifying key decision-making factors for the product’s category
- Providing quantitative measurements about how a product measures up in various classes of performance
- Covering comparable products, explaining which products might be best for specific uses or circumstances
- Describing how a product has evolved from previous models
- Or releases to provide improvements, address issues, or otherwise help users make a purchase decision

The most recent update also includes two other pieces of advice:
An important way in which to improve your reviews is to include evidence. This can take the form of visuals or audio and specific examples of your own experience with the product. This will help add a sense of authenticity to your reviews and help you climb up that all-important Google ranking.
This gives the reader options for their preferred method of purchasing the product while providing more opportunities for your review to be found in Google.
In addition to simply improving your google ranking, a high-quality review, focusing on originality and quality as opposed to length, and delivering the most value to readers has another positive effect on your business or website.
It can also lead to more clicks on affiliate links for the products, leading to rewards from sellers.
